IEEE Photonics Society Singapore Chapter Student Activity Committee (SAC), which was set-up in June 2009, is responsible for organizing research seminars, industrial visits, social events and regular sports activities for IEEE Photonics Society Singapore Chapter. An active and efficient SAC is a vital component of the university life for our student members. Our student membership consists of all undergraduate and postgraduate students from local universities, institutions and industry.

The exciting and fantastic science of photonics includes the generation, emission, transmission, modulation, signal processing, switching, amplification, detection and sensing of light, and so on. Our student members are devoted to the research and development of photonics technologies to meet the rapid growing demand for faster and better optical communications.

With the guidance and support from the organizing committee of IEEE Photonics Society Singapore Chapter, we strive to offer a networking platform for students and staffs, where we will not only be able to communicate research ideas but also able to strengthen our ties. We are also dedicated to provide intellectual, emotional and spiritual support for the student community of IEEE Photonics Society Singapore Chapter.
